Mr. Lance Harris, Headmaster

Mr. Harris was born and reared in Northeast Arkansas. He earned his Associate of Arts in Music from Southern Baptist College which is also where he met his wife Patty. He continued his education at John Brown University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education.  Mr. Harris taught choral music and has served as a church music director since 1988. He has been involved in Christian education in teaching and administrative positions since 2001.  He has served as Covenant Classical Academy's headmaster and the Minister of Music for Community Presbyterian Church since 2003.  He and his wife Patty have five children, two of whom graduated from CCA.


Mrs. Jennie Jeffery

1st & 2nd Grade

 Mrs. Jeffery grew up in Central California and moved to Southern California to attend The Master’s College. She and her husband Elliot were married in 2011. While they wait on the Lord’s timing and pray for the blessing of children, for now, they have a Puggle named Linus. Mrs. Jeffery is an active member at Redeemer PCA where she serves on the Women’s Ministry team. Mrs. Jeffery began teaching at CCA in 2017.

Mrs. Jeffery grew up in Central California and moved to Southern California to attend The Master’s College. She and her husband Elliot were married in 2011. Mrs. Michelle Winstead

Mrs. Laura Abbott

 Mrs. Winstead was born in St. Louis, MO. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO and joined the teaching faculty at CCA in August 2016. She has been married to Barry since 1998 and they have two daughters both attending CCA. The Winstead's are members at Sanctuary Church in Louisville, KY.

 Mrs. Harris was born in New Orleans, LA and moved to North Central Arkansas in her later childhood. She attended Southern Baptist College where she met her husband Lance. She continued her education at John Brown University in music performance. She home schooled her 5 children until she began teaching in Christian schools in 2002. She is an active member of Community Presbyterian Church. She and her husband Lance have been married since 1985 and have five children, the youngest of whom graduated from CCA in the spring of 2015.

She met her husband Herb, married and moved to Franklin, TN and then to Louisville in 1976. She has taught in many different positions throughout her career, from 1st grade to GED classes since 1974. She and her husband Herb have been married since 1974 and have three children, the youngest of whom is a CCA graduate. Mrs. Melton is a member of Community Presbyterian Church.

 Mrs. Krystaponis, affectionately known as "Mrs. K" is originally from Louisville but moved to Columbia, SC as a teenager. She studied at the University of South Carolina and Rider College in NJ. She and her husband John have 5 children and lived in New Jersey for 13 years before returning to Louisville. Mrs. K has been teaching at Covenant Classical Academy since 1998. She and her husband John have been married since 1980. Her five children are all graduates of Covenant Classical Academy.

Mrs. Katie Talcott

 Mrs. Talcott is originally from Bozeman, Montana. She graduated from a classical school (Petra Academy) which is where she learned to have a love for Classical Education. Mrs. Talcott attended the Master's College and received a B.A. in Communications and a B.A. in English. She has experience teaching PE, Latin, and Speech. Mrs. Talcott and her husband Dan are active members at First Baptist Church of Fisherville. They have three boys, two of which are attending CCA. Mrs. Talcott began teaching and directing CCA’s athletic program in 2018.

MRS. CATHY MITCHELL

      Administration &      Development

 Mrs. Mitchell is originally from Sturgis, MI. She is a graduate of Alma College with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. She later received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She has been married to Bruce since 1993 and they have five children, two of whom have graduated from CCA. She has been a part of the CCA faculty in various capacities since 2010 and oversees development, events, and office administration. The Mitchell's are members at Community Presbyterian Church in Louisville.

Mr. Nick Dellis

Assistant Headmaster & Humanities

 Mr. Dellis is originally from Milwaukee, WI where he was born and raised. He attended Boyce College where he received his B.S. in Humanities. He is currently studying at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Dellis served four years in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in an Airborne Infantry Unit in Ft. Richardson, Alaska and was deployed to Afghanistan. Mr. Dellis and his wife Stephanie have one child and are members at Sojourn Church New Albany. Mr. Dellis began teaching at CCA in 2017.

Board of Directors

Mr. Herb Melton (Chair Emeritis) - Mr. Melton has served businessmen and professionals in the Kentuckiana region for over forty years as a personal clothier and wardrobe planner with The Tom James Company.  Until 2005, he also served as senior sales manager for the region.  He is a graduate of The University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in Liberal Studies. Prior to participating in the founding of CCA, he served on the board of another Christian school for ten years.  Mr. Melton attends Community Presbyterian Church where he has served as an elder for many years.  He and his wife Barb have three grown children.

Elliot Don Jeffery (Chairman) – Mr. Jeffery is an Attorney at Vissing Law in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  He is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in Kentucky and Indiana.  He is a graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and has a B.A. in Business Administration and Leadership from Concordia University, Irvine.  He and his wife are members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Louisville.

Logan Abbott (Vice President) - Mr. Abbott has many years of managerial experience and is currently the General Manager of Breakout Louisville. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a minor in Biblical Languages from William Carey University in Mississippi. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity in Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. Upon completion, Mr. Abbott plans to pursue his Doctorate in Biblical Languages. Most importantly, he is a wonderful husband to his wife, Laura, and an excellent father to their three daughters, all of whom attend CCA. Mr. Abbott and his family are faithful members of Kenwood Baptist Church. 

Dan Talcott (Treasurer)- Mr. Talcott is the Director of Business Management at Crossings Ministries, a Kentucky based camp and conference center focused on serving local churches. He has worked in both public accounting and private industry for over 13 years, including an emphasis in not-for-profit entities. He is an active member of Fisherville Baptist Church where he teaches Sunday School, assists with the music ministry, and currently chairs the church's finance committee. Mr. Talcott joined the board in 2018. He and his wife Katie and three sons, two of which are currently attending CCA.

Cathy Mitchell (Secretary)- Mrs. Mitchell is originally from Sturgis, MI. She is a graduate of Alma College with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. She later received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She has been married to Bruce since 1993 and they have five children, two of whom have graduated from CCA. She has been a part of the CCA faculty in various capacities since 2010 and oversees development, events, and office administration. The Mitchell's are members at Community Presbyterian Church in Louisville.

Bart Marshall- Mr. Marshall owns two real estate companies and a computer service business. Marshall Properties, LLC is his residential company that focuses on residential long term acquisition as well as investment rehabs and flips. He is also the managing member of ZJB, LLC which focuses primarily on commercial property acquisitions and investments.  Marshall Computer Services, LLC is his computer service business.  He has been in business for 18 years and services clients in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area and specializes in networking, server and workstation construction and troubleshooting, HD and CCTV surveillance systems, and IT consulting. Mr. Marshall and his wife Tiffany have a daughter who has attended CCA, another one the way, and are involved in foster care with the hopes of adoption.
